“The Technical Assistance for Assessment of Turkey’s Potential on Transitıon to Circular Economy” Project- The Circular Economy Conference was held on January 18, 2024.

The Circular Economy Conference, which was organized to introduce the concept of circular economy to wider circles and discuss best practices within the framework of the plan to be announced to the public this year, was held in Ankara on January 18, 2024.

After the strategy and action plan was opened to the opinion of the implementing institutions by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the framework of the strategy was shared with representatives of public institutions, business people, civil society and academia at the Circular Economy Conference.

The conference was attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs Ambassador Mehmet Kemal Bozay, Deputy Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Fatma Varank, Head of Cooperation, Delegation of the EU to Türkiye Odoardo Como, and Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations, Asst. Assoc. Dr. Hüseyin Bayraktar, General Manager of Environmental Management Recep Akdeniz as well as many interested parties attended.

Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations, Asst. Assoc. Dr. Hüseyin Bayraktar gave information about the ongoing projects supported by the EU in Türkiye especially waste management facilities.
