Within the scope of the IPA III period and with the support of the European Union, the 1st Action Coordination Unit (ACU) Meeting of the “Building a Disaster-Resilient Türkiye” Project was held on 18 February 2026. The meeting was hosted by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and organized in a hybrid format.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, the Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye, The Ministry of Interior  Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, General Directorate of European Union and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, representatives of the contractor company, and representatives involved in activities carried out in the pilot provinces.

During the meeting, the activities completed during the inception phase of the project and the activities planned for the implementation phase were discussed in detail. Participants agreed that the project would make significant contributions to strengthening institutional capacity in line with the objective of building a more disaster resilient Türkiye.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of the roadmap for the upcoming period and closing remarks.
