The 16th Sectoral Monitoring Committee Meeting of the Environment and Climate Action Sector Operational Programme was held.

The meeting was held in a hybrid format on 29 November 2024 at the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change, with the participation of representatives from the European Commission, the European Union Delegation to Türkiye, NIPAC, NAO and all relevant institutions.

The meeting began with an opening speech by Assoc. Prof. İsmail Raci BAYER, Director General of European Union and Foreign Relations and Head of the Intermediate Body Responsible for IPA Management. The meeting covered the status of completed and ongoing projects within the scope of the Environment and Climate Action Sector Operational Programme, the tendering processes for projects, the physical stages of projects in implementation, The progress of the Environment and Climate Action Operational Programme at the indicator level and sectoral developments related to the programme implementation were also discussed.

In addition, presentations were made on the work carried out by the officials of the grant projects included in the IPA II Period ‘Strengthening Climate Adaptation Action in Turkey Project’, namely “Building Community Resilience to Natural Hazards and Climate Change in Local and Regional Areas (CCAGP/231); Resilience Academy – REMEDY” project, which is also being carried out by the project authorities.
