During the project process, EU and Turkish legislation were also compared and differences were summarised, and Turkish legislation was examined in detail alongside three EU member states. Support was provided to the EIA General Directorate in the preparation of draft regulations and circulars, and study visits were conducted to EU countries to observe best practices in the public participation process. Furthermore, field visits were carried out and the processes of selected sectors were identified in the light of current technologies. Project identification files and guidelines were prepared for the sectors listed in Annex II of the EIA Regulation, screening procedure criteria were developed, and workshops were organised with the participation of 81 Provincial Directorates to standardise implementation.
