ABOUT THE PROJECT Overall Objective of the Project is:

to contribute to a high level of environmental protection by integrating environmental considerations into the preparation and adoption of plans and programmes likely to have significant effects on the environment, within the EU accession process

Specific Objective of the Project:

  • To strengthen institutional capacity and promote the implementation and dissemination of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Regulation nationwide, in line with Directive 2001/42/EC.

Project Results:

Result 1: Strengthening the institutional capacity and expertise of the Ministry and relevant authorities during the initial implementation of the SEA Regulation

Result 2: Dissemination of knowledge on the fundamentals of the SEA Regulation to national and local stakeholders (Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, competent authorities, universities, NGOs, chambers, and the public)
