| ABOUT THE PROJECT | The project aims to identify the reuse potential of treated urban wastewater across Türkiye in terms of different utilisation alternatives and to prepare a nationwide master plan in this field. Within the scope of the project, reuse options such as agricultural irrigation, industrial use, urban green areas and similar alternatives will be assessed from technical, environmental and administrative perspectives; draft legislation studies will be developed for different reuse alternatives.
In this framework, detailed technical designs and investment application documents regarding treated wastewater reuse will be prepared for 8 pilot provinces. In addition, training programmes will be organised for municipal and institutional staff to strengthen institutional capacity in relation to the reuse of treated wastewater, and to increase stakeholders’ knowledge and awareness. Through the project outputs, more efficient use of water resources and the dissemination of sustainable water management practices are targeted. |
