| ABOUT THE PROJECT | Within the scope of the project, wide-ranging activities were carried out to raise awareness of sustainable water use and environmental protection. Educational materials and handbooks for use in grades 0–8 were prepared, teachers were trained as resource persons, and competitions were organised in pilot schools. The “Community Service” activities of secondary education institutions were supported, and the pre-school and primary education curricula were reviewed in the context of water conservation.
During the project process, cartoon characters for children were also developed, an animated TV series was produced, and content in comic strip format was prepared for TRT Çocuk magazine. Announcements were made as part of public information activities, the “Water Ambassadors EU Project Documentary” was filmed, and a website was designed to promote the project. Materials for use in promotional activities were developed, and competitions and promotional events were held in pilot basins. A “Training of Trainers” working group was established, a training programme covering different disciplines was implemented, and a study visit was organised to EU member states. In addition, the “National Young Water Ambassadors Assembly” was convened to encourage youth participation in the project. |
