ABOUT THE PROJECT Overall Objective of the project is:

To support the accession process by ensuring Türkiye’s compliance with environmental protection and EU wastewater sector directives, through improving water quality in the Black Sea and enabling the population to benefit from enhanced wastewater services

Specific Objectives of the Project:

  • Construction of a wastewater treatment plant, sewerage and stormwater network
  • Improving the water quality of Black Sea via reducing pollution load caused by untreated wastewater discharge in the existing situation and contribute to improvement of public health
  • Overcoming the operational problems in the sewerage system through construction of wastewater network
  • Meeting the wastewater needs of the region until 2047
