During the visit to Konya of the Head of the EU Delegation to Türkiye Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut and our unit members participated, EU-TR regional cooperation on Environment and Climate Change issues was discussed.

Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut and the accompanying delegation, which included the Head of the EU Investments Department and also the Head of the Intermediate Institution Responsible for IPA Financial Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Raci Bayer and our relevant personnel, visited the Çatalhöyük Archaeological Site, which has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2012.

The Head of the EU Delegation to Türkiye, Ambassador Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut and his accompanying delegation paid a courtesy visit to Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay. The EU-TR regional cooperation on environment and climate change was discussed at the meeting.

Localization for Climate Change Adaptation Project which is jointly carried out by the EU IPA II Fund and our country, was introduced at the meeting, which was attended by the Head of the EU Investments Department and also the Head of the Intermediate Institution Responsible for IPA Financial Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Raci Bayer and our relevant personnel.

On the 2nd day of the meeting; Within the scope of the Masters of the Drought funded under the Grant Program of the Adaptation to Climate Action Project in Türkiye, a meeting was held with experienced farmers to obtain their opinions. In the speech made by Prof. Dr. Erhan Akça, the drought effects created by climate change, especially in the Central Anatolia Region, were emphasized.
