NAME OF THE PROGRAMME Environment Operational Programme (2007–2013)
START DATE 02/08/2012
END DATE 15/08/2017
BENEFICIARY(IES) Adana Metropolitan Municipality
PLACE Adana/Ceyhan
BUDGET OF THE CONTRACT 18,588,015.50 Euros
ABOUT THE PROJECT Within the scope of the Project, a wastewater treatment plant with an average flow of 34,900 m³/day and a service capacity of 100,000 persons was designed and constructed by the Contractor, and training on operation and maintenance was provided to the staff of the Adana Water and Sewerage Administration.

By rehabilitating the existing plant that carried out physical treatment, it was transformed into a facility capable of secondary biological treatment, removing carbon and nitrogen. By using the biogas generated in anaerobic sludge digesters, a certain portion of the facility’s energy demand is met.

In addition, the construction of a 26.5 km stormwater, siphon and discharge structures was carried out to serve 30% of the district.
