ABOUT THE PROJECT Overall Objective of the project is:

  • To support the accession process by ensuring Türkiye’s compliance with environmental protection and EU wastewater sector directives, and by promoting the proper use of water resources, the effective and efficient management of water quality, and thereby protecting the environment and water resources.

Specific Objectives of the Project:

  • Upgrading the technical and physical quality of water and wastewater systems to European standards,
  • Provision of technical assistance to BASKİ in administrative, financial and technical capacity building,
  • Provision of technical assistance to BASKİ for the effective management of the water and sewerage unit,
  • Ensuring the supervision of the construction works of the wastewater treatment plant, the drinking water system and the wastewater system.
