| ABOUT THE PROJECT | Within the scope of the Service Contract, the activities carried out included the establishment of the Project Implementation Unit/Water and Sewerage Administration; the strengthening of the administrative, technical and financial capacity of the newly established entity; the supervision of construction works for the wastewater treatment plant and collector lines; the preparation of tender documents for equipment procurement; and the provision of technical assistance during the tendering processes.
Within the scope of the Works Contract, the following were constructed: a wastewater treatment plant with advanced biological treatment capacity of 32,808 m³/day; one wastewater pumping station (including grit removal unit, coarse screen unit, odour control unit, and 3+1 pumps with a capacity of 110 l/s); one inverted siphon structure (704 m pipeline, screen unit, aerated grit removal unit); 30.8 km of collector lines; 1,695 m of pressurised wastewater pipeline; and four compact wastewater pumping stations of various capacities. The pollution load of the Sitilce and Eğri streams was reduced, and through compliance with Turkish and EU standards in the environment sector, the water quality of the Atatürk Dam was improved and the recreational value of the region was enhanced. With the construction of a new wastewater treatment plant and the improvement of the quality of the receiving environment, the monitoring activities at the receiving environment and discharge points were enhanced. |
