General Director of the European Union and Foreign Relations – Head of Managing Authority
İsmail TÜZGEN

Born in Ankara in 1982, Mr. İsmail TÜZGEN completed his education there. He started his undergraduate study at Middle East Technical University’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning in 2000 and Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (METU) education in 2003 and he graduated in 2005 after successfully completing his education.
From 2005 to 2009, he took office in private sector as part of planning studies for 4 years as a Town Planner and Geographic Information Systems Specialist. By the end of 2009, Mr. TÜZGEN was assigned at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and actively served in Turkish Agricultural Basins Production and Support Model project.
Mr. TÜZGEN took office at the Provincial Directorate of Public Works and Settlement in Çankırı Province in 2010 and actively served in the commission efforts at the Governor’s Office, besides the duties conducted under the Settlement Law. Starting to work as a Town Planner at the General Directorate of Infrastructure and Urban Transformation Services of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization in 2011, Mr. TÜZGEN acted as the Branch Director and Department Head and coordinated the revision efforts for the Real-Estate Certificate Communiqué in 2016. In 2017, he took the office of Deputy Secretary-General at urbanization council. From 2018 to 2023, he served as the General Director of Geographic Information Systems.
Mr. TÜZGEN holds a European Union Basic Training Certificate granted by Ankara University (ATAUM), Public Internal Audit Certificate, and Ministerial Inspection Certificate.
