Within the scope of the “Technical Assistance Mechanism for Supporting Post-Earthquake Recovery in the Municipal Infrastructure Sector” implemented by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of the Republic of Türkiye, monitoring and site visits were carried out in Hatay and Osmaniye provinces between 20 and 22 April 2026.
The visits were conducted with the participation of Mr. Mehmet Yunus İNAN, Head of the Project Preparation and Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change; Mr. Ünal ESEN, Adana Regional Director of İLBANK; Mr. Melih LOŞ, Deputy Mayor of Osmaniye Municipality; Mr. Gökhan GÜMÜŞCAN, Deputy General Manager of HATSU; Ms. Ayfer KARAALP, Technical Expert of İLBANK Operations Department; Ms. Selda GÜNGÖR, Head of the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit; Mr. Burak YILMAZ, Contract Expert; Monitoring and Evaluation Experts; representatives of İLBANK Regional Directorate; and officials from the consultant and contractor companies.
On 21 April 2026, the delegation visited the Drinking Water Network Construction Project in Harbiye district and the Tekebaşı Drinking Water Network Construction Project in Samandağ district. The current progress, mobilization process, technical and logistical challenges, potential delay risks, and proposed solutions were evaluated on site.
On the third day, 22 April, information was shared regarding the Drinking Water Network Construction Projects in Reyhanlı and Kumlu, as well as the Kırıkhan Drinking Water Network Construction Project. Discussions focused on developing a roadmap to ensure more effective implementation of the ongoing project process.
Aiming to contribute to post-earthquake infrastructure recovery efforts, the project holds critical importance for strengthening the water supply and infrastructure systems of Hatay and Osmaniye. Officials emphasized that the site visits would accelerate project implementation and enhance inter-institutional coordination.
