At the kick-off meeting of the “Strengthening The Capacity of National Climate Finance” project, held on 5 March 2026 at the Presidency of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change under IPA III, the scope of the project, the activities to be carried out, and the opportunities for interaction between the project and COP31 to be held in our country were discussed. The meeting was attended by officials from the European Union Delegation to Turkey, the Project Implementation Department of the Directorate General for European Union and Foreign Relations, the Directorate of Climate Change as the final beneficiary, and officials from the contractor company.

The meeting commenced with speeches by Mehrali ECER, Deputy Director General of the Climate Change Presidency, the contracting authority, Head of the Project Implementation Department of the Directorate General for European Union and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanisation and Climate Change Assoc. Prof. Dr. İsmail Raci BAYER, and Göktuğ KARA, Team Coordinator of the European Union Delegation to Türkiye.

The project, with a total budget of €2,399,800, is supported under the IPA III – Annual Action Programme for Türkiye (2022 Programming) within the thematic priority of ‘Green agenda and sustainable connectivity’. Information was provided on the project’s objectives, planned activities, and expected results and outputs, and the meeting concluded with closing remarks.
