ABOUT THE PROJECT Within the scope of the Project, approximately 32 km of wastewater collection system was constructed in areas of the city centre without this system, together with the construction of a pumping station, the rehabilitation of approximately 1 km of Madenler Stream, and the construction of approximately 10 km of stormwater drainage network.

Within the scope of the Project, the works comprised the rehabilitation of approximately 30 km of water supply system, the construction of a 1.43 km sea outfall pipeline, the construction of one modular steel storage tank, the rehabilitation of 4 existing water reservoirs and 4 pumping stations (including all mechanical and electrical works), as well as the construction of 3 new pumping stations.

Under the EU Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA I) 2007–2013 Environment Operational Programme, a total investment of 12,308,000 Euros was made in Mersin Province, and the Erdemli Water and Wastewater Project was formally accepted on 14 January 2018 and handed over to the Municipality.
