| ABOUT THE PROJECT | Through the Project, by bringing the wastewater discharge from the Bartın Wastewater Treatment Plant into compliance with EU standards, the protection of the environment and the Bartın River, the elimination of public health threats, the improvement of the infrastructure of the İnkumu area as well as the elimination of public health threats arising from wastewater by constructing a pre-treatment unit and a marine outfall (1,430 m) was targeted.
Within the scope of the Technical Assistance Project, the preparation of Equipment Tender Documents was carried out, and the supervision of construction contracts was ensured in compliance with FIDIC specifications. In addition, technical assistance and capacity-building activities for the staff of Bartın Municipality were carried out by the Consultant. Under IPA I, a wastewater treatment plant with an average flow of 14,722 m³/day and a capacity of 41,005 population equivalent (71,485 persons) was constructed in Bartın, and training on operation and maintenance was provided to the staff of Bartın Municipality. |
