| ABOUT THE PROJECT | Within the scope of the project, the construction of a sanitary landfill site, a material recycling facility, a composting facility, a medical waste sterilisation unit, a leachate treatment plant, 2 transfer stations, as well as the closure and rehabilitation of 7 old dumping sites, has been carried out.
Within the scope of the project, the rehabilitation works of an uncontrolled waste disposal site containing approximately 173,000 m³ of waste, which could not be carried out under the first construction contract, have been completed. The project has been successfully completed, the final acceptance of the facility has been carried out, and it has been handed over to BAÇEYÖB (Balıkesir Environmental Management Union), which comprises 7 municipalities (Susurluk, Bigadiç, İvrindi, Savaştepe, Kepsut, Pamukçu, and Balıkesir Central Municipalities). In accordance with Law No. 6360, with Balıkesir Province attaining metropolitan municipality status, the responsibilities of BAÇEYÖB have been transferred to the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality. |
