ABOUT THE PROJECT Overall Objective of the project is:

To contribute to the improvement of public health by addressing the gap in legislative compliance, and to enhance the water quality of the Black Sea, thereby supporting Türkiye’s environmental protection efforts and alignment with the EU wastewater sector directives within the accession process

Specific Objectives of the Project:

  • Construction of wastewater treatment plant, drinking water supply and wastewater network
  • Improving the water quality of Kelkit Stream via reducing pollution load caused by untreated wastewater discharge in the existing situation and contribute to improvement of public health
  • Overcoming the operational problems in the sewerage system through rehabilitation of wastewater network
