ABOUT THE PROJECT Overall Objective of the project is:

To support the accession process by ensuring Türkiye’s compliance with environmental protection and EU wastewater sector directives

Specific Objectives of the Project:

  • Construction of a wastewater treatment facility with a daily capacity of 21,000 cubic metres and a 90‑kilometre collector line
  • Improving the water quality of Aras River via reducing pollution load caused by untreated wastewater discharge in the existing situation and contribute to improvement of public health
  • Improving the wastewater collection system to overcome the operational problems in the sewerage system
