Finance Unit Coordinator

He graduated from Maltepe Military High School in 1992 and from the Military Academy of the National Defence University in 1996 as an Artillery Lieutenant with a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering. Following his graduation from the Artillery and Missile School in 1997, he served as a Battery Executive and Battery Commander in various units within Turkish Land Forces Command.

After resigning from the army in 2005, he worked as a Foreign Trade Supplier Coordinator at an automotive company operating predominantly in imports until 2011.

In 2011, he was appointed as a Researcher at the then-named Education and Publications Department of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. 

In 2013, he was appointed to the then-named European Union Investments Department and held the office of Financial Control Specialist at the Financial Management Unit.

In 2014, he was appointed as a unit coordinator of the same unit and has been holding this office.

 

The duties of the Finance Unit are as follows:

  • Receiving and recording payment claims, controlling the relevant invoices and making payments by verifying the consistency of expenditure stated on the invoice with the contract in coordination with the relevant units;
  • Corresponding with the National Funding Department within the Ministry of Treasury and Finance regarding payment transactions, making payment requests and carrying out financial reporting;
  • Making separate accounting entries for each programme period, priority axis, action, project and contract, and ensuring the confidentiality of such entries;
  • Performing monthly account reconciliation in line with the relevant sub-account and accounting entries;
  • Checking and recording bank letters of guarantee;
  • Preparing and updating the payment schedules as necessary; and
  • Conducting other duties assigned by the Department Head.
